Position Summary
We are seeking a Buyer / Procurement Specialist to support manufacturing and operational purchasing activities. This role is responsible for procuring materials, equipment, supplies, and services while ensuring competitive pricing, supplier quality, timely delivery, and compliance with company purchasing policies.

The ideal candidate will have experience in procurement within a manufacturing environment, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage supplier relationships and multiple sourcing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Procure materials, equipment, supplies, and services to support manufacturing operations.

Manage an annual procurement portfolio valued between $10M-$15M .

Support purchasing activities for 3,000+ active part numbers and 50+ suppliers .

Process 750-1,000 purchase orders (POs) each month while ensuring policy compliance.

Review and analyze purchase requisitions for accuracy and completeness.

Develop and implement strategic sourcing and cost-reduction initiatives.

Lead 5-10 strategic sourcing events annually, including RFQs and RFPs.

Prepare and issue:

RFQs

RFPs

Bid packages

Evaluate supplier quotations, bids, and proposals.

Negotiate pricing, contracts, payment terms, and lead times with suppliers.

Award business based on quality, delivery, cost, and supplier performance.

Monitor supplier performance and maintain 95%+ on-time delivery .

Manage supplier relationships and resolve procurement or supply chain issues.

Monitor and process engineering and procurement change orders.

Support procurement process improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.

Administer supplier contracts and ensure compliance with purchasing procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

3-5 years of procurement or purchasing experience.

Minimum 2 years of procurement experience required.

Manufacturing procurement experience strongly preferred.

Strong negotiation and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
