About the roleThe DRLP provides oversight of surplus lines licensing compliance and regulatory adherence. This role ensures that surplus lines transactions are conducted in accordance with applicable state laws, licensing obligations and internal control standards. Oversee processes related to affidavits and disclosures, premium tax reporting and remittance, stamping office submissions, broker responsible forms and policy documentation and record retention.Monitor regulatory bulletins and assess operational impact.Partner with Legal and Compliance to maintain and enhance controls supporting surplus lines activities.Track state premium tax requirements, coordinate with Finance for payments, and monitor state filing deadlines.Support internal and external audits, regulatory exams and inquires from state departments of insurance.8+ years business experience, preferably with general insurance and surplus lines knowledge and prior regulatory experience.Background in operational risk, internal controls or governance functionsGood organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks to completion within deadlines.Proficient Excel skills to analyze and summarize data and PowerPoint to present results.Active P&C LicenseActive Surplus Lines LicenseActive A&H LicenseExperience executing DRLP-related filings and attestationsExperience supporting regulatory exams and auditsExperience monitoring premium tax reporting obligationsTechnical and practical knowledge of:State insurance licensing requirementsSurplus lines regulationsPremium tax requirementsNIPR and state insurance dept filing processesFor positions based in NYC, the base salary range is $120,000 - $131,000. For positions based in MA, the base salary range is $ $120,000 - $130,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
