Sewing School Instructor

Duties Plan and implement a variety of educational, recreational, and enrichment activities tailored to children's interests and developmental needs.

Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for all participants.

Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement.

Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety at all times.

Collaborate with parents, guardians, and school staff to support each child's individual needs and progress.

Provide basic first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any emergencies or behavioral concerns.

Incorporate themes such as childhood development, early childhood education, sports coaching, theater, or Christian counseling into program activities to enrich children's experiences.

Requirements Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting (highly preferred).

Knowledge of classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques.

Knowledge of sewing (highly considered).

Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.

Must be able to obtain a background check and drug test through DCPS.

Ability to work hours after school and occasional special events.

Background in special education or experience working with children with diverse needs is a plus.

Passion for childhood development, childcare, and creating positive learning environments.

Job Details Job Type: Part‑time

Pay: From $40.00 per hour
