Underwriter - Health Insurance Plan

SompoRe has a unique opportunity for an AVP, Accident & Health Reinsurance Underwriter in our Reinsurance North America A&H team. Our disciplined approach to risk management and claims handling, coupled with strong analytical skills, enables us to provide broad multiline capability to successfully underwrite risks across our clients’ insurance portfolios. With global experience and local expertise in key markets worldwide, SompoRe has deep bench strength across all disciplines and above all, remains a stable and constant trading partner throughout all market cycles. Short Term Medical; Special Risk, etc. Location: This position may be based in our Garden City, NY, New York City, NY, or Morristown, NJ office, with consideration also given to candidates in any of our U.S. office locations. Achieve stated financial objectives for growth and profitability within the A&H treaty portfolio.
Represent SompoRe’s capabilities through active engagement in on-site visits, industry conferences, and other networking opportunities.
Perform risk analysis (exposure, aggregation, and profitability) using internal models and market data.
Participate in special projects that support corporate needs and objectives.
Proven ability to perform detailed risk analysis and effectively engage in complex negotiations.
Professional demeanor with a commitment to delivering outstanding client service and building long-term partnerships.
Advanced knowledge of relevant software tools, including AI, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other applications.
Willingness to travel as required to support client relationships and business objectives.
