Shift: Day Shift
Location: MercyOne House of Mercy, Des Moines, IA (Full-time 40 hours/week). BA, CADC or MSW acceptable.
Position Purpose: Provides services to adults including face‑to‑face assessments, diagnoses, treatment suggestions, and referrals. Offers substance use disorder, co‑occurring, trauma, and personal growth related therapy to clients and families, applying advanced psychosocial theory.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Establish rapport and develop therapeutic relationships with assigned clients.
Provide therapy and counseling services in individual and group sessions.
Maintain professional boundaries.
Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution assistance.
Differentiate between emergency and non‑emergency tasks and respond accordingly.
Provide immediate supportive counseling to clients in crisis or emergency situations.
Assist with referrals to community resources when appropriate.
Conduct educational groups providing recovery‑related information and instruction.
Provide psychosocial counseling/treatment services to restore clients to optimum social and physical well‑being, within their capacity.
Provide therapy for co‑occurring, trauma, and personal growth concerns in individual and group sessions.
Provide family and/or couples therapy in designated situations.
Complete an initial assessment that includes evaluation of ASAM criteria.
Obtain biopsychosocial history.
QUALIFICATIONS BSW or Master’s degree in a human services related discipline.
