Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 26-bed orthopedic spine unit specializing in spinal surgeries including laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies
Manage a diverse patient population with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, DVT, and PE
Assist with and monitor special procedures including bedside lumbar puncture, post-cath care (radial and femoral), post-surgical care, post renal biopsy, CT angiography, and Heparin drips
Collaborate with integrated pain management, physical therapy, and mobility support teams to facilitate patient recovery
Float to other units or campuses as needed based on census, limited to areas within documented competencies
Complete required pre-assignment modules and annual compliance requirements prior to and during contract
Required Qualifications
Active South Carolina RN license or active multistate (Compact) RN license — pending licenses not accepted
Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry setting
Orthopedic nursing experience required
Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Must meet facility distance eligibility requirements to qualify as a traveler
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with spinal surgery patient populations including pre- and post-operative care
Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and cardiac patient management
