Direct Support Professional (DSP)

You’ll work directly with people in need of assistance, and/or living with intellectual or developmental disabilities, or other complex medical needs. Variety of schedules available (All persons in this position should be prepared to work some weekends and holidays.)

Paid Training and Orientation: Training provided to ensure you’re equipped to handle challenging behaviors.

Provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those with potential behavioral support needs.

Assist with activities of daily living, household cleaning, meal preparation, shopping, budgeting, personal goals, appointments, community activities, and engagement.

Promote independence, personal choice, and life skills development.

Support individuals in achieving goals and objectives outlined in their Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and document progress accordingly.

Transport individuals to appointments, activities, and community outings as needed.

Complete accurate and timely electronic documentation in accordance with program and regulatory requirements.

Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance.

Basic computer skills for documentation and communication.

Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Willingness to assist individuals with personal cares and activities of daily living (ADLs).

Experience, training, or transferable skills that support success in a direct support role.

Genuine interest in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Ability to promote independence, community engagement, and person‑centered supports.
