Emergency Room Nurse Nights - Urgent Need

Job Summary: The Level 3 ER Registered Nurse (RN) on the night shift is responsible for providing expert emergency nursing care in a fast-paced environment. Key functions include assessing patient conditions, initiating emergency interventions, administering medications and therapies, operating specialized equipment, and collaborating with healthcare teams. The RN must have at least 2 years of ER experience and required certifications to deliver high-quality care while adapting to possible float assignments in Medical-Surgical or ICU units.
Responsibilities:
Assess patients' clinical conditions and prioritize care in emergency situations.
Initiate appropriate emergency measures when physicians are not immediately available.
Operate and monitor emergency care equipment such as infusion pumps, ventilators, cardiac monitors, and pulse oximeters.
Administer prescribed therapeutic measures including medications, IV therapy, respiratory therapy, and mechanical ventilation.
Record observations, nursing interventions, and patient status accurately and timely.
Document patient care requirements and coordinate with interdisciplinary team members.
Plan, develop, and implement patient care delivery and maintain proper documentation.
Maintain adequate supplies and equipment and ensure a safe unit environment.
Float to Medical-Surgical or ICU units as needed.
Required Skills & Certifications:
Minimum 2 years recent experience as an ER Registered Nurse.
Current certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) mandatory.
Experience with mechanical ventilation and emergency nursing equipment.
Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
~ De-escalation certification prior to start (willingness to obtain required).

Special Considerations:
Must work every other weekend and one major holiday.
Float assignments to ICU and Medical-Surgical units are expected.
Must complete 3 days of orientation in the same start week.
Return to Office (RTO) policy strictly enforced; no holiday requests approved post-offer.
Scrubs color requirement: red.
Scheduling:
Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
Shift assignments based on staffing needs and float requirements.
