Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides compassionate, resident-centered care and support under the direction of licensed nursing staff. This role ensures the physical, emotional, and social well-being of residents while maintaining the highest standards of safety, dignity, and respect in accordance with facility policies and state/federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

Provide daily personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral hygiene, and mobility assistance.

Assist residents with meals, hydration, and feeding as necessary while maintaining dignity and independence.

Measure and record vital signs, weight, intake/output, and report significant changes to the nurse immediately.

Help residents with positioning, turning, and transferring using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.

Maintain clean, safe, and comfortable resident rooms and common areas.

Support residents in recreational and social activities to promote engagement and emotional well-being.

Observe and report any changes in physical or mental status to the licensed nurse promptly.

Follow infection control, safety, and privacy policies at all times.

Document care and observations accurately and timely in accordance with facility procedures.

Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.

Uphold resident rights, confidentiality, and the mission and values of the facility.

Qualifications:

Current Florida Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in good standing.

High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Minimum of six (6) months experience in long-term care or post-acute setting (preferred).

Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, and team members.

Must be able to lift, move, and transfer residents safely and perform the physical demands of the position.

Current CPR certification (preferred).

Must pass background screening and health requirements per Florida regulations.
