High School English Art Teacher

Summit Academy North is hiring a High School English Language Arts Teacher for the upcoming school year! If so, Summit Academy North is the place for you!

Our doors at Summit Academy North have been open for 25 years, educating students from Preschool through 12th grade. On any day, one can expect to find classrooms bursting with energy, as well as shared leadership, collaboration, and the freedom of our teachers to educate students to their fullest potential. We offer before and after school activities for all students, including band, music and an athletic program.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Language Arts Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching literature, writing, and language skills to middle school students. This individual will create a stimulating classroom environment, encourage student engagement and participation, and foster a love for reading and writing.

Teach a diverse curriculum that includes literature, composition, grammar, and language usage while considering varied learning styles and needs.

Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.

Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.

Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff.

Supervision of multiple students at once.

Occasionally sit on the floor or bend down/squat.

Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or a related field.

Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education with an endorsement in the subject.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.

Passion for literature and the ability to inspire students to develop their writing and analytical skills.
