Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical SurgicalWe are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical to join our dynamic healthcare team. This position focuses on providing exceptional patient care in a neuro-focused unit dedicated to pre- and post-operative cranial and spinal surgery patients.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver comprehensive nursing care for surgical and neurology patients.Maintain and monitor patients with intermittently drained lumbar and surgical drains.Administer and manage medications, including Heparin, in accordance with policies and procedures.Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.Participate in patient and family education to promote health and wellness.QualificationsCurrent Registered Nurse (RN) license.Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a relevant specialty.Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NIH Stroke Scale.Availability to work night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week.Availability to work every other weekend.Additional InformationRatios: 1:4-6No local candidates accepted; home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility.Pending licenses are accepted.Time off request (RTO) restrictions include a maximum of 7 days per 13-week contract.Guaranteed hours available for the duration of the contract.Clinicians may float within scope to meet facility needs.Block scheduling is not available.Work EnvironmentThis position is situated in a Magnet-designated, teaching, Level I trauma center with a total of 1,266 staffed beds. The unit operates with EPIC charting and accommodates various patient needs, contributing to an enriching and collaborative atmosphere for healthcare professionals.Parking InformationParking passes are available for purchase, and designated parking options are provided for orientation.
