Their duties include speaking with their patients about healthy lifestyle choices for their age, completing diagnostic tests to help diagnose and treat patients for injuries or illnesses and coordinating with other healthcare professionals to maintain updated medical records. Essential Job FunctionsTreat adults who have illnesses, acute and chronic health problems, and general concerns in accordance with standards of careCollect, record, and maintain patient information, such as medical history, reports, and examination results adhering to HIPAA regulationsPrescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, and disease.Examine patients or order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests to obtain information on medical condition and determine diagnosis.Advise patients, and community members concerning diet, activity hygiene, and disease prevention.Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical staff.Perform in-clinic procedures on patients to remove, repair, or improve functioning of diseased or injured body parts and systems.Spend 100% of your time clinically focused on direct patient care, inclusive of patient facing time and general administrative time (charting, meetings, etc.) as it relates to direct patient care.Required Qualifications:Master of Science in Nursing (NP or PA) from an accredited nurse practitioner program.Board Certification from an accredited boardActive, unrestricted NP or PA license in State of FloridaTwo or more years of adult medicine experience as an NP or PABLS (AHA or Red Cross)Excellent verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrate a high level of skill with interpersonal relationships and communications with colleagues/patientsWillingness and ability to learn/adapt to practice in a value-based care settingSuperior patient/customer servicePreferred Qualifications:Autonomous APRN license in FloridaDEA Certification or able to obtainACLS (AHA or Red Cross)Fluent in Spanish (Read, Write, Speak)Experience managing commercial insurance and Medicare Advantage patientsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
