We are seeking resumes for a LICSW-certified Social Worker opening at Meridian PCS for the 2025-26 school year. The Social Worker will be responsible for duties in the following areas:

meeting goals of students referred through the Student Support Team (SST) and Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT)
supporting students with short term crisis intervention
ultimately, improving classroom performance

Collecting data for the purpose of monitoring social/emotional progress and evaluating effectiveness of services
Meeting with teachers regularly to discuss counseling case reviews, behavior plan progress, social emotional curriculum planning as well as other concerns
Working collaboratively with the SST to develop plans of assistance for students at risk of academic and/or behavioral difficulty.
Conducting home visits that encourage home/school communication
Serving as the home-school-community liaison responsible for effective resource utilization and positive relations with families
Serving as an advocate for parents and families in need
Supervising one Licensed Graduate Social Worker
Master's or Doctorate in social work, counseling, psychology or related field required
Experience working as a school counselor or social worker in school-based settings, preferably in an urban setting
Energetic, flexible, creative, innovative individual who can develop strengths-based, student-centered support plans that boost learning for students
Ability to collaborate with families, school staff, and the community
Meridian teachers and staff are compensated competitively for their time and have opportunities to earn additional income through leadership opportunities at the school level, offering extracurricular clubs and sports for students, and facilitating tutoring programs. In the 2025-26 school year, the pay scale for teachers ranged from $61,000 -$99,000, based on level of education and years of experience.
