General Laborer (Fulltime 1st Shift - Monday-Friday)

Assembly Technician

This role supports the Assembly PODs department on 1st shift by performing assembly and finishing work along a production line and safely moving materials throughout the facility. You will follow blueprints and assembly specifications to build and complete products, using hand and power tools, and then forward your work to the next stage of production. The position also involves operating industrial material-handling equipment to load, unload, transport, and stack materials in a clean, non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Perform assembly and finishing tasks along a production line according to blueprints and assembly specifications.

Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, and special tools to position, hold, and secure parts during assembly.

Attach and affix pre-manufactured components and parts to create subassemblies and finished products.

Manually or mechanically load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, rail cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles.

Operate industrial trucks, tractors, forklifts, lift beams, swivel hooks, hoists, and elevating platforms to move materials safely around the facility.

Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secure materials or products for transport to designated areas.

Use power tools such as grinders, impact guns, and circular saws to perform cutting, grinding, and other fabrication tasks as needed.

Drill holes for screws and operate different machinery required for specific assembly operations.

Perform touch-up painting on containers and related components as needed to meet quality standards.

Lift and move production objects weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily tasks.

Complete required paperwork accurately, including documentation related to production, materials, and quality checks.

Work primarily with hands to assemble products, while also operating a variety of tools and equipment as required.

Plan and organize assembly steps in alignment with established processes to keep the production line running efficiently.

Rotate through different assembly and material-handling tasks to maintain productivity and reduce fatigue.

Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when operating tools, equipment, and material-handling devices.

Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area in compliance with facility standards.

Perform other duties as assigned to support production, assembly, and material-handling operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in a similar assembly or production role.

Blueprint reading skills for assembly and fabrication tasks.

Basic welding or fabrication exposure is beneficial.

Familiarity with finishing processes and moving product through a manufacturing facility.

Comfort working with both hand and power tools for extended periods.

Ability to communicate effectively in more than one language to support documentation and teamwork.

Willingness to rotate through different tasks and adapt to changing production needs.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality and safety.

Work Environment

This role is on 1st shift, working Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Most work is performed while standing and can be physically demanding, but tasks are rotated to provide variety and reduce fatigue. The facility is non-climate-controlled yet maintained as a very comfortable and clean environment. You will work around industrial material-handling equipment, production lines, and a variety of hand and power tools. The position reports into the PODs department leadership structure. The dress code requires work boots and work pants, with sweatpants not permitted.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cherry Hill, NJ.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
