RN Hospital Oncology Day Shift Full-Time - Oncology

This position will serve to support our affiliation with Roswell Park Cancer Care.

Located at the Main Hospital Campus on 1-1

Monday - Friday 7:30am-4pm

Oncology/Chemo Experience Preferred.

Plans and provides nursing interventions for individuals with cancer and cancer‑related health care problems; treats human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as patient care, health teaching, and health counseling; executes medical regimens prescribed by a physician or other licensed health care provider authorized by the state of New York.

Shared Governance: Open door guiding principle gives all our nurses a voice.

Strong rapport with the care team of medical assistants, secretaries, LPN, and physician group.

Administer chemotherapy agents, pre‑medications and non‑oncology infusions.

Phone triage.

Adheres to regulatory requirements and professional standards such as ONS.

Performs nursing assessment that includes the holistic needs of each patient with consideration of physiological, psychological, social, ethnic, cultural, educational, and spiritual strengths and needs; includes the patient and family and/or support system in planning and delivery of care.

Ensures that patient safety is a priority goal in delivery of healthcare.

Provides direct patient care activities with other professional disciplines to ensure the nursing intervention plan aligns with the total treatment plan.

Administers medications and IV fluids safely and efficiently following established policies and procedures.

Provides health education/teaching for patients and their designated significant others.

Confers with nursing staff and other members of the healthcare team regarding patient condition or unusual events to ensure continuity of care.

Adheres to the RPCI Oncology, PC standard for Employee Conduct.

Protects patient’s privacy, confidentiality, and rights as health care consumers.

Complies with and is knowledgeable of Institute and department policies/procedures and standards of care.

Attends education programs relevant to patient population, new products, equipment, policies/procedures, and clinical care.

Education, Training, Experience, Certification And Licensure

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in the State of New York.

All services, medical staff, patients, visitors, and various regulatory and professional agencies.

Team Leader, Clinical Coordinator, Practice Manager, and Clinical Services/Nursing Administration.
