We are actively seeking experienced Structural Engineer Divers at our Baton Rouge or New Orleans, LA office. As the successful Engineer Diver, you will be working with a professional engineering dive team that provides consulting services to clients - primarily in the Louisiana area. Occasional travel to other areas throughout the U.The principal function of this position is to be part of a team that evaluates marine structures and bridges through above and underwater engineering inspections, follow-on report preparation and development of structural repair designs. You will utilize modern workflows that include field tablets, UAS (drones), nondestructive testing and evaluation, marine mapping and imaging, analysis and modeling tools. The successful applicant will be required to assume increasingly responsible charge to function as an Inspection Team Leader.

Conduct site investigations of marine structures, bridges, etc.

Work collaboratively with all members of the inspection team and of other engineering disciplines

Analyze deteriorated components of marine structures to assess load capacity

Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering

Professional Engineer licensure in Louisiana or the ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months of hire

Certified Commercial Diver is required; ADCI, HSE, DCBC, IMCA, ADAS or completion of a US military equivalent diving school

Proven experience in performing above/below water engineering inspections

Ability and willingness to travel as required. Most work is local/regional; however typical travel can be up to 1 to 2 weeks in duration

Ability to obtain security clearances required by the US Navy strongly preferred

Good planning, organizational and time management skills

The incumbent works in both the office and field:

Field work requires diving in waters and exposure to extreme elements

Some extended days, evenings, and weekend work requirements

ADCI (or equivalent) diving requires specific physical conditioning and strength

Field work requires incumbent to carry diving and inspection equipment over unpaved, rural, and unmarked terrain

The incumbent must be able to lift, carry, climb, and navigate in a small boat.
