What you'll do Collaborate with reporters and editors to conceptualize and produce video segments that align with news stories and themes.
Operate professional video cameras and equipment to capture high-quality footage in various settings, including live events, interviews, and on-location shoots.
Edit video content using industry-standard software, ensuring that final products meet Pencor's quality standards and deadlines.
Conduct interviews with news subjects, ensuring that the content is engaging and informative while maintaining a professional demeanor.
Stay updated on current events and trends in the local community to identify potential stories and video opportunities.
Work closely with the news team to brainstorm and develop creative concepts for video storytelling.
Ensure all video content adheres to legal and ethical standards, including copyright and licensing requirements.
Manage and maintain video equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition and ready for use at all times.
Participate in team meetings to discuss upcoming stories, video needs, and production schedules.
Assist in the promotion of video content through social media and other digital platforms to maximize audience reach.
Provide feedback and suggestions for improving video production processes and techniques.
Requirements Proven experience as a videographer or in a similar role, preferably in a news or media environment.
Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of video production techniques, including lighting, sound, and composition.
A portfolio showcasing previous video work, demonstrating creativity and technical skills.
Familiarity with social media platforms and their role in news dissemination.
Nice to have Experience with live streaming and broadcasting technologies.
Knowledge of graphic design and motion graphics software such as After Effects.
Previous experience in a newsroom environment or with a news organization.
