PTA - Physical Therapy

Job Description Physical Therapy Assistant | Oklahoma City OK
$30-$35 per hour
Reports to the Rehabilitation Manager and/or supervising Physical Therapist.

Provides physical therapy treatments as directed by the Physical Therapist.

• Documents all treatments and services in the medical record.
• Participates in care conferences and rehabilitation meetings.
• Communicates resident progress, concerns, and plans with the interdisciplinary team.
• Participates in in-service and training programs.
• Completes daily treatment and productivity documentation per policy.
• Assists with cleaning and maintaining the therapy department and equipment.

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Must meet health screening requirements, including drug testing and physical exam if required.
• Occasional travel may be required.

May be exposed to blood, body fluids, airborne particles, and cleaning chemicals.
* Moderate noise level typical of a healthcare setting.

• Document patient information, such as notes on their progress.
• Observe patients during treatments to compile and evaluate data on their responses and progress and provide results to physical therapist in person or through progress notes.
• Secure patients into or onto therapy equipment.
• Confer with physical therapy staff or others to discuss and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, or coordinating treatment.
• Administer active or passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, aquatic physical therapy, or heat, light, sound, or electrical modality treatments, such as ultrasound.
• Clean work area and check and store equipment after treatment.
