Exciting RN Opportunities at UPMC Shadyside!Experienced RNs: Full-time positions available for nurses with more than 1 year of experience.Shifts: Eligible participants must work 48 weekends per year, 24 hours per weekend (either two 12-hour shifts or three 8-hour shifts per weekend) between the hours of Friday 3PM and Monday 7AM. Working in the Admission Team as an RN, you will see all new patients upon admission to the hospital to complete the admission assessment, document medication history lists, and document mobility screens. RNs in this role must serve as a resource to new patients in reference to the hospital and their surroundings. Admission RNs are responsible for providing information about UPMC Shadyside, as well as their current unit, to the patient and their families.Educate patients, families, and staff using adult learning principles; support team learning and guide patients through care transitions.Provide Holistic Care: Deliver individualized care using the nursing process, set daily goals, communicate clearly, and document thoroughly.Grow Professionally: Participate in shared governance and quality initiatives, adapt to change, and use evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.At least 1 year of RN experience.An Associates Degree in Nursing, BSN, or MSN is required.Demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to provide care and interact with all ages of patients. Establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with patients and their families, executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, and other departments.Think critically to analyze and problem-solve to deliver the best patient care. Use sound clinical judgment and problem-solving to deliver quality patient care when it matters most.Understand, apply, and champion nursing best practices.Ability to work productively and effectively within complex environments and handle multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment.Registered Nurse (RN) or TPP (Temporary Practice Permit) Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state.Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.UPMC-approved national certification preferred.Act 34UPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
