You must be willing to work onsite at the Nordstrom office at your work location a minimum of 4 days/week in order to be considered for this position.In this role, you'll own the vision for product selection, content strategy, and you'll bring customer and trend insights to life — all in service of our division's merchandise strategy. You'll partner closely with your buy planner to hit sales, margin, and GMROI targets together, and you'll have real influence over the assortment customers fall in love with.Develop product plan to support seasonal department merchandise strategies based on customers’ expectations and market trendsDevelop deep multi-channel expertise; including presentation knowledge, customer behavior and competition for both FLS and Online channelsNegotiate exclusive offerings, terms, pricing, vendor-funded-markdowns, return-to-vendor agreements, drop-ship programs, co-op, etc.Manage and direct inventory management in season; Partner with buy planner and financial planner on business reviews, open-to-buy management and plan revisions to achieve financial goals and strategic objectivesTeach, coach and motivate assistant buyer(s) to become exceptional business managers and assortment curatorsYou own this if you have…4+ years of experience as a multichannel/omni-channel retail Buyer or in an equivalent roleStrong negotiation instincts and a track record of building lasting vendor relationshipsPeople leadership experience; proven ability to inspire and motivate performanceA solid understanding of Nordstrom's retail and service cultureProficiency in MS OfficeA Bachelor's degree in Merchandising or a related field (preferred)Experience managing a high-volume, multi-brand category (jewelry or luxury experience preferred)Ability to travel domestically (and internationally 1 - 2X/year)#LI-CH1Pay Range DetailsThe pay range(s) below has been provided in compliance with state specific laws.
