Physician Family Medicine - Urgent Need

We are seeking a full-time Primary Care Physician to join our clinic in Albemarle NC. This role is ideal for physicians who enjoy building long-term patient relationships, practicing in a collaborative outpatient setting, and contributing to a growing, performance-focused provider team.

Compensation Highlights

Annual base compensation: $239,000 based on full-time hours (36 to 40 hours per week)

Estimated Quality and Facility Incentive plans: $16,000

GAIN Incentive plan: Dependent upon productivity - potential annual bonus $35K to $120K!

Sign-on bonus: $10,000

Two Retention bonuses at Years 2 and 3: $5,000 / $4,000

Supervision compensation: $24,500 for supervision of 10 APPs, with the first three included as part of the physician's annual base compensation.

GAIN Bonus Program

Med First's Growth Aligned Incentive Network, or GAIN , is an incentive plan designed to align provider compensation with growth, patient access, and long-term provider retention. The program gives eligible full-time providers the opportunity to share in generated net collections above an individualized annual collections target.

Program premise: Providers can earn incentive compensation on eligible net collections

Collections basis: Net collections are calculated on eligible Fee-for-Service/E&M procedure codes only; ancillary revenue is excluded.

Annual collections target: A provider's target is based on the higher of the minimum collections target or the provider's prior-year eligible collections, up to the Gold Tier target.

Gold Tier: Providers who reach the Gold Tier target may earn a flat Gold Tier bonus plus standard percentage earnings on additional eligible collections above the target.

Pinnacle Bonus opportunity: Providers may also be eligible for a long-term Pinnacle Bonus tied to sustained collections performance over a three-year period.

Payout timing: GAIN is evaluated twice per year, with a first-half evaluation and partial payout after June 30 and a final annual reconciliation and payout after year-end.

Plan conditions: Providers must be employed in good standing at the time of payment, remain in compliance with Med First's Open Chart policy during the measurement period, and not be on disciplinary action at the time of payment.

Plan discretion: Med First reserves the right to administer, modify, or terminate the GAIN program with or without notice.

Schedule and Benefits

Schedule: Monday through Friday

Call schedule: Approximately 1 week out of every 7 weeks

PTO: 4 weeks

CME: $5,000 per year

Paid holidays: 6 paid holidays

Role Overview

The Physician will provide primary care, urgent care, and occupational medicine services to patients of all ages. Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients, managing chronic and acute conditions, supporting value-based care initiatives, and maintaining timely documentation. Med First physicians play an important role in leading, mentoring and coaching Advanced Practice Providers - this position will be responsible for supervision of 10 to 13 Advanced Practice Providers as assigned.

Qualifications

MD or DO with an active, unrestricted North Carolina medical license

Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine

Experience in primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, urgent care, or a similar outpatient clinical environment preferred

Ability to see patients of all ages

DEA registration and ability to maintain required clinical certifications

Commitment to quality care, patient satisfaction, teamwork, and timely chart completion
