Surgery LPN-(Full-Time)

Job Overview Full‑time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) needed for General Surgery, Trauma and Transplant practice team in Albany, NY. Working Monday‑Friday during day shift.

Responsibilities Obtains and accurately records patients’ vital signs.

Documents components of patients’ history.

Communicates in an open and appropriate manner with patients, visitors and staff.

Participates in in‑office procedures under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare provider.

Performs diagnostic CLIA waived testing.

Performs venipuncture to obtain blood for lab testing.

Handles prescription call‑backs per scope of practice.

Preps patients’ charts for pertinent clinical information.

Maintains inventory of supplies and keeps patient examination rooms stocked.

Adheres to AMC’s regulatory compliance issues.

Qualifications High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – NYS licensure.

Previous experience in a patient care setting preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from physicians, patients and their family members or other employees.

Physical Demands Standing, walking, sitting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, eye/hand/foot coordination – frequent or constant as described.
