Licensed Practical Nurse, LPN- Dermatology Surgery Clinic

This licensed practical nurse (LPN) position provides direct nursing care to assigned patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. The LPN collects data, communicates information, participates in the health care team, delivers care per the patient care plan, and may mentor and participate in quality improvement projects.

The LPN provides nursing care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or assigned supervisor and accepts delegation from the RN/assigned supervisor in meeting the needs of the patient or family. The LPN collects data through observation and communicates information to assist the RN and/or provider in patient assessment and care planning. The LPN participates as a member of the health care team and accepts delegation from the RN/assigned supervisor and provider in meeting needs of the patient or family. The LPN delivers care in accordance with the patient care plan, policies and procedures of the organization, and principles of relationship-based care. The LPN possesses excellent communication skills; and may participate on committees or projects, including quality improvement projects.

Graduate of a school of practical nursing or passed LPN Boards after a defined period in a professional nursing program. If graduation did not occur within the last two years, one year of LPN experience in an applicable setting is required. Cross Training to Clinical Dermatology is expected, with frequent and prolonged standing required during surgical procedures. One year LPN experience within the last five years preferred. Computer skills required; prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing preferred. Internal applicants should submit their three most recent performance appraisals. Current LPN license by applicable state requirements. Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers from one of the following programs: Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area. 24.55 - $35.65 per hour. Full time. Monday-Friday, 8‑hour shifts. International assignment not applicable. Site description: Mayo Clinic locations in Phoenix/Scottsdale, Arizona; and various Mayo Clinic Health System campuses in Midwestern communities and international sites.
