OB/GYN Ultrasound Sonographer

Operates ultrasound equipment used to produce quality routine and moderately complex diagnosticscans to ensure optimal patient care and meet department needs.

Graduate from an accredited sonography program.

For sonographers working in Ultrasound or Mammography, one year of experience in specialty ispreferred.

Education completed in Sonography with current credential from the American Registry ofDiagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists

- Sonography (ARRT(S)) and hospital sonography experience.

Certification/Registration/Licensure

• Sonographers working in Radiology ultrasound (70420) must be registered in the sub-specialty ofabdomen [by ARDMS (RDMS (AB)) or ARRT (S)] or vascular sonography [by ARDMS RVT orCCI-RVS] as a condition of hire.
• If hired with sub-specialty of vascular sonography [by ARDMS RVT or CCI-RVS] thensubspecialty abdomen [by ARDMS (RDMS (AB)) or ARRT (S)] must be obtained within 12months of hire date.

Must have a current Healthcare Provider (BLS Level) CPR course completion card or obtain certification

Military Training Network

Must be able to operate various types of ultrasound and ancillary equipment used in performing ultrasound procedures.

• Must be proficient in ultrasound exams in specialty as required for general, OB/Gyn, or mammography.
• Operates ultrasound equipment used to produce routine to moderately complex diagnostic scans

Determines equipment and supply needs in advance.

Evaluates and verifies the images meet established imaging protocol quality standards for the sub
