Number of Beds: 630 has 34 beds; 633 has 25 beds
Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:5 on days, 1:5 to 1:6 on nights
Unit Staffing: 3 technicians when unit 630 is full, 2 technicians when unit 633 is full

Scheduling Requirements
Every other weekend requirement for contract
Three 12-hour shifts a week
Floating Policy
May be required to float between PCU units or to medical-surgical floors.
Patient Experience Requirements
Hourly rounding on days
Every 2-hour rounding on nights
AIDET methodology for communication
Maintain communication boards on the 7th floor; Unit 633 has TV communication boards
Certifications

BLS

ACLS

Desired Skill Set
Critical thinking skills
EKG rhythm interpretation
Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips
Preferred experience with peritoneal dialysis and peripheral IV skills
Advanced skills: ACLS
Experience with bipaps, high flow O2, and multiple oxygen delivery systems
Experience caring for stroke patients and post-cardiac catheterization
Experience with tube feedings and NG/Dobhoff tube management
Procedures Performed on Unit
Peritoneal dialysis
Thoracentesis

Chest tube insertions
