Human Resources Generalist, Payroll and Recruitment

Envelop Group is a community of companies focused on the design, installation, and ongoing optimization of custom facility technologies that impact every square foot of a building's operations. We work with contractors, building owners, and consulting engineers to provide all the technologies needed for the most advanced, efficient, and secure operation of any facility. The Human Resources Coordinator will support core HR functions including onboarding, benefits, payroll, HR systems, employee records management, and compliance while ensuring a consistent and positive employee experience.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and capable of managing confidential information with the utmost integrity. This role will be in our downtown Indianapolis office Monday - Friday with in-office presence required.
Coordinate and administer onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire paperwork, employee file setup, orientation, and separation documentation.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HRIS (ADP) and physical files, ensuring proper documentation and record retention.
Support payroll processing by maintaining accurate employee data and ensuring timely updates related to new hires, terminations, and compensation changes.
Serve as point of contact for employee questions, providing timely and accurate information regarding policies, procedures, and benefits.
Assist with HR audits, reporting, and compliance documentation to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws and company policies.
Assist in planning and coordinating employee engagement initiatives, including company events, community involvement, training sessions, and recognition programs.
Support training and development activities by coordinating logistics, scheduling, and materials.
Monitor and update HR forms, policies, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Provide general administrative support and assist with special projects as needed.
Associates or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
1+ years of relevant experience in human resources, administrative support, or internship experience in HR or related field preferred.
Basic understanding of HR processes including onboarding, employee records management, payroll, and benefits.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (ADP), and similar computer applications.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate office technology including laptop, email, smartphone, and other tools as needed.
Pre-hire requirements include a drug test and a background check.
