Systems Engineer
NextGen's practice in Digital Engineering (DE) is growing. This role will drive the design, and integration of complex systems using advanced models and tightly coupled software toolchains. This role bridges architecture planning and development to ensure a seamless "digital thread" from concept through production. Selected engineers will collaborate with fellow colleagues to solve complex technical tasks while becoming experts with and deploying cutting edge modeling and analysis tools.
Work on a cross-functional team to develop cutting edge software solutions for DoD mission critical programs of record
Enable/support development of automation capabilities and tying the Digital Thread
Define, design, and deliver bounded tool adapters to connect tools, data and simulation products, and user workflows
Work within an Agile Project Management framework and DevSecOps culture
Collaborate with stakeholders including customers, teammates and partners
Architect connected ecosystems (DevSecOps pipelines) to enable continuous, automated data exchange
Ensure requirements trace accurately across hardware, software, and test environments to create a single source of truth
including software libraries, command line applications/plug-ins, and desktop applications/plug-ins
Support scenario creation, LVC orchestration and real-time monitoring of simulation
Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or similar

• 5+ years leading projects employing Digital/Systems Engineering
• Ability to work closely with software engineers to evolve the systems architecture
• Ability to analyze problems with a flexible and creative approach, manage complex tasks and adapt to rapidly changing requirements
• Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and customer-facing skills
• Current DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance
