Schedule: 3x12, Days (7a-7p), Friday Sunday or Saturday Monday

The multi-disciplinary cardiology team at North Alabama Medical Center offers an integrated approach to heart care that spans the spectrum from prevention and diagnostic care to the latest in surgical treatments and rehabilitation.

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.

Documents patient care given.

Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.

Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Applicants should have a current Alabama or compact state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

ACLS, PALS, and Handle with Care preferred, must be obtained within 30 days of employment
