Weekend Receptionist, Hourly

Receptionist Non-Exempt, Hourly - 25 hours per week PAY RATE: $16.30 - $19.56 Hourly At The Salvation Army, we are dedicated to "Doing the Most Good". We do this through programs designed to combat homelessness and hunger, provide safe spaces for youth after school and on the weekends, achieve and maintain sobriety, and give hope to the hopeless. The Salvation Army North and Central Illinois Division provides these services to people in need. The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for clients, visitors, donors, volunteers, and staff at The Salvation Army. This position is responsible for providing professional customer service, assisting with front desk operations, answering and directing phone calls, greeting guests, and assisting with administrative tasks. The Receptionist helps create a welcoming and respectful environment while supporting the organization's mission of serving individuals and families in need. Provide administrative support to the Corps Officer(s) as related to business of the front desk and food pantry services. Assist with the Food Pantry management and distribution to those we serve with kindness and respect. Maintain and manage food pantry database and forms necessary for reporting. Know what is on all three calendars for the day, Social service, Corps and Community Center. Ability to work with front desk and pantry volunteers to help recruit, schedule and train them in the process of the front desk. Perform other duties as assigned as related to the administrative support. Administrative Expectations ~ Successfully satisfy the training requirements associated to the position and as required by The Salvation Army.

High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years plus of experience in a receptionist, front desk, customer service or administrative support role preferred. Entry level candidates with strong customer service skills may also be considered.
Ability to multi-task several projects concurrently
Ability to establish and implement policies and procedures.
Proficiency in computer software applications, including demonstrated experience in using email, MS Office applications.
This individual will adhere to all policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position. To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to use standard office equipment including a PC and potentially make public presentations/interactions.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES

~ Performance will also be determined by outcome information provided during weekly staff meetings and monthly reports.
