The selected attorney will work primarily in the General Litigation Unit of the Civil Division, representing the United States in trial and appellate courts across a wide array of federal and state litigation, including bankruptcy, civil rights, commercial, constitutional, employment, environmental, federal program, fraud, immigration, medical malpractice, patent, prisoner, social security, summons enforcement, tax, and general tort cases. Responsibilities will increase in complexity as training and experience progress.ResponsibilitiesRepresent the United States in civil cases, including but not limited to employment discrimination, tort law, immigration law, constitutional law, the Administrative Procedure Act, and FOIA. RequirementsUnited States Citizen or National.Initial appointment conditioned upon satisfactory pre‑employment adjudication, including fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing; Attorney pay is administratively determined based on professional experience.
