Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift ICU RN requiring 2+ years of ICU experience, open heart experience, and an active MI RN license.
Details

• Critical Care unit in a 404-bed acute care hospital
• ICU patient ratios of 1:2 (1:1 for special populations); step-down ratio of 1:4
• Floating required to Emergency Department and Step-down unit, including ED patients on holds
• Uses Cerner EMR
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required, with at least 2 shifts requested from each shift block
• No on-call requirements
• 13-week assignment

Active MI RN license required at time of submission
Compact licenses not accepted
Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
Open heart experience required
Must be comfortable floating to ED and Step-down units
Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS
TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, and SCRN certifications are a plus
Neuro surgical experience preferred
Prior travel nursing experience preferred
Additional Information

Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement patient care plans
Delegate and oversee tasks for Nurse Assistants, Patient Care Associates, and other support staff
Evaluate effectiveness of care plans and adjust as needed
Serve in a leadership role including precepting new employees and students
Participate in patient care conferences and discharge/transfer planning
Navy blue scrubs required
Local candidates within a 35-mile radius of the facility are considered local travelers with adjusted pay rates
Maximum of 5 days RTO may be requested during the assignment
Strict three-strike attendance policy in effect; excessive absences or tardiness may result in termination from the assignment
