Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years Med/Tele RN experience License: BLS required Certifications: BCR required, ACLS preferred, National certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing preferred Must-Have: - Strong clinical assessment and med-surg nursing skills for Level 1 Trauma Hospital - Experience in trach care, chest tube management, IV insertion, and central line management - Ability to coordinate patient care with an interdisciplinary team Description: The Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment focusing on MedSurg/Tele patients. The unit consists of 30 beds with an average census of 30 patients. Patients commonly include post/pre-cardiac patients and step-down ICU patients. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-6, with designated CNAs assisting with patient care. Key skills required include wound care, post-operative monitoring, and cardiac monitoring. Telemetry interpretation skills are essential. Additional responsibilities include discharge planning and patient education, particularly in renal and fluid management. Resource nurses and a dedicated telemetry monitoring team provide additional support. The position involves working 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12 on a six-week schedule. Holiday expectations include working one shift of each major holiday.
