Welder/Metal Fabricator
LF Studios specializes in the design and fabrication of animatronic figures, sculpted elements, exhibits and interactive experiences. Our work can be found internationally in leading theme parks, museums, science centers, and branded spaces.
The Welder/Metal Fabricator is responsible for the building of mechanical and structural elements used in animatronics and metal structures. Team members are expected to follow designs, incorporate best practices and meet quality standards. Fabricate metal armatures and mechanical assemblies by using MIG, TIG, and fasteners.
Prep, position, align, fit and weld materials.
Assemble off-the-shelf parts as designed (e.g. bearings, pneumatic cylinders, etc).
Be familiar with the safe operating procedures of metalworking equipment and tools.
Basic understanding of powered mechanical systems.
Expertise in the operation of basic metal shop tools - drill press, band and chop saws, grinders, torch, and basic hand tools. Able to pass welding certification tests for mild steel and stainless steel in FCAW-G and TIG (LF Studios to provide certifications).
Minimum 3 years of experience fabricating mechanical components or systems.
