Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. The RN is responsible and accountable for compliance with all standards of practice and professional development. The RN promotes a caring and healing environment for patient-centered care. The RN assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements, and evaluates nursing care. The RN serves as a primary nurse when designated by unit assignment. The RN educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management. The RN utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications. The RN shares in responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization. The RN complies with all nursing practice standards and regulatory requirements. The RN actively participates in the Nursing Shared Governance Model and improvement initiatives. The RN engages in professional development and completes all mandatory education requirements. The RN integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice. The RN provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students. The RN performs other duties as assigned.
