The primary focus will be to drive new sales within our available lending territory. Growth will likely include managing current client base; as well as a plan of action to increase market share by building relationships with referral partners.Essential FunctionsBuild external business relationships and drive sales within the assigned lending territoryCoach and mentor Mortgage Banker team members on best practices and share knowledge through internal peers groupsServe as a subject matter expert (SME) on Bank mortgage productsManage production pipeline and documentation collection while coordinating with fulfillment team to ensure an efficient flow. Communicate between borrowers and referral partners.Analyze applicants' financial status, creditworthiness, and property evaluation to determine eligibility and feasibility of granting home loansProvide financing options and customize solutions by conducting a deep dive analysis of the application, credit profile, financials, etc. and ensuring options offered fit within the guidelines of the lending/sellers guide(s) by product type (FHA/VA, Conv, HELOC). Follow the ASK LISTEN SOLVE process of discovery and proposing options.Pre-underwrite file to obtain and analyze documentation, in a timely fashion, regarding employment, credit, income, assets and collateral. Verify documentation meets CMC/Investor/Agency Standards prior to submission to our operations partners.Adhere to CBI Code of ethics, Do not Call Regulations, Privacy and Opt-Out procedures, HMDA data collection, Suspicious Activity procedures, Adverse Action requirements, Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Fair Housing Act (FHA), Commerce's pricing policies, and all Fair Lending policies and proceduresManage and deliver best in class client care to an active loan pipeline of up to 20 loans in a pre-funded statusManage and deliver best in class client care to an active lead pipeline of up to 150 clients utilizing lead management data base and all of its capabilitiesTimely communicate updates and requests to clients in accordance with current Service Level Agreements (SLA's) and compliance industry regulations. This includes but is not limited to standard policy-required applicant correspondence regarding needed file documentation, looming deadlines, general milestone communication points and decisionsMaintain continual, consistent, and open communication with all appropriate parties to the transaction in accordance with current Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to ensure a timely closing that exceeds the client's expectations. Consistently document lead management system and loan origination system with client communications/expectations, timelines, next steps, action items, owners of the actions, loan condition needsWhen called upon, provide customer / conversion feedback to leadership team, marketing team, secondary marketing team and technology teamPerform other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills & Abilities RequiredStrong knowledge of mortgage productsStrong credit risk analysis and loan origination skillsAbility to focus on customer's needs, both internal and external, to develop and sustain productive customer relationships ensuring the opportunity to increase products per householdDevelop and maintain collaborative relationships to facilitate and achieve corporate resultsAbility to achieve an exceptional level of technical and professional skills/knowledge in job-related areas; keeping abreast of current developments and trends in area of expertiseAbility to take prompt and proactive actions to accomplish objectivesAbility to maintain a valid driver's license and meet Commerce Bank's driving record criteria; ongoing employment may be contingent upon meeting all driving requirementsMotivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple prioritiesInquisitive, agile and strong team player with excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skillsAbility to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core ValuesStrong level of proficiency with Encompass, Blend, Microsoft Office Suite, Optimal Blue and Total Expert are preferredEducation & ExperienceAssociates degree in business management/finance or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
