Description
A Machinist II produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines and manual equipment; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. Using blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of the finished product.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal parts by operating mechanical equipment.
Program mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
Set up mills and lathes.
Load feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.
Maintain specifications by observing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance actions; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Document actions by completing production and logs.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

• 3-7 years' experience with CNC mills and lathes
• CNC programming skills a plus
• Experience with Fanuc controls preferred
• Ability to comply with safety laws and regulations
• Ability to trouble-shoot machines to ensure that parts meet print specifications
• Able to read blueprints and measure with micrometers and other related measuring devices
• Basic Computer skills and familiar with Microsoft Windows applications
• Emphasizes personal and professional growth, keeping knowledge and skills current
• Job function requires excellent vision
• Must have good written and oral communication skills, and able to read and write in English.
• Self-motivated and strong attention to detail, accurate and concise
• High School Diploma, or GED
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
• Able to perform basic physical tasks such as standing for long periods of time and lifting up to 50lbs
• Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
