Urology Clinics of North Texas is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to join our growing outpatient practice.
As a UCNT Certified Medical Assistant you will work closely with physicians and advanced practice providers while helping patients navigate important and often sensitive healthcare needs. You will combine hands-on clinical care patient communication and accurate electronic documentation to keep the clinic running efficiently and provide an excellent patient experience.

What You Will Do
Patient Care and Clinical Support
Prepare patients for examinations and procedures obtain and document relevant clinical information and support an efficient patient flow.
Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with examinations treatments and in-office procedures.
Perform clinical tasks within your training and scope of practice including vital signs specimen collection urinalysis blood draws injections and catheterization.
Observe patients recognize concerns and communicate relevant information promptly to the provider.
Explain procedures and next steps clearly while treating every patient with respect discretion and compassion.
Respond to patient calls communicate acute symptoms to the appropriate provider and complete required follow-up by the end of the business day.
Process medication refill requests prior authorizations Title 19 forms and letters of medical necessity as assigned.
Schedule outpatient or inpatient procedures and surgeries when assigned.
Documentation and Clinic Workflow
Document patient care prescriptions telephone calls and external communications accurately and promptly in the electronic health record.
Complete required Medical Assistant workflow templates and verify that provider documentation is present and complete.
Prepare charts review missing-result reports and route documents containing protected health information appropriately.
Coordinate physician schedule changes with the appropriate internal teams.
Maintain accurate clinical laboratory OSHA and equipment documentation.
Equipment Supplies and Safety
Prepare clean and stock examination rooms laboratory areas and clinical workspaces.
Clean disinfect and sterilize instruments in accordance with established procedures.
Maintain autoclave testing cystoscope cleaning and pressure-testing processes including all required documentation.
Maintain CLIA and OSHA requirements quality-control logs and applicable safety standards.
Prepare laboratory specimens and follow the appropriate insurance and laboratory-routing requirements.
Monitor medical supplies and notify clinic leadership of replenishment needs.
Complete clinic-opening responsibilities and ensure equipment and work areas are ready for patient care.

Qualifications
What You Will Bring
Required Qualifications
Active Certified Clinical Medical Assistant certification or another UCNT-approved Medical Assistant certification.
Current required continuing education and credentials.
Experience performing clinical Medical Assistant duties in a physician practice outpatient clinic or comparable healthcare setting.
Ability to perform specimen collection vital signs urinalysis blood draws injections catheterization and instrument sterilization.
Working knowledge of medical terminology clinical procedures medications and commonly used medical instruments.
Strong patient-service interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to organize and prioritize work manage multiple responsibilities and maintain close attention to detail.
Dependable attendance and the ability to be at the assigned workstation prepared to begin work at the scheduled time.
Ability to exercise sound judgment while following established clinical policies and procedures.
Professional appearance and demeanor; scrubs are required.
Computer and Documentation Skills
Intermediate computer proficiency including confident use of electronic health records practice-management systems and document-management systems.
Ability to navigate multiple applications enter and retrieve information accurately manage electronic work queues and maintain current patient documentation.
Proficiency with business email electronic scheduling online forms and common Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to learn new clinical systems and workflows and use technology efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous urology or specialty-practice experience.
Experience with surgery scheduling medication prior authorizations and clinical quality-control processes.
Experience supporting multiple providers or working in a high-volume outpatient clinic.
Bilingual English and Spanish skills.
