Dispatcher/Inventory Assistant

Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Schedules deliveries for customers and sales people.
Invoices all delivery sales orders to ensure payment.
Assigns drivers to vehicles and routes.
Maps all routes for drivers.
Runs credit checks on deliveries prior to scheduling.
Pre-authorizes credit cards and checks for SOD, COD and cash sales.
Tracks outgoing transfers.
Receives all incoming transfers.
Maintains driver and vehicle reports (including monthly fuel records and repair requests).
Opens store daily (takes early calls from customers and employees).
Addresses all deliver disputes as they arise.
Maintains business records pertaining to deliveries, pick-ups and transfers.
Coordinates the loading of trucks.
Assists with answering phones when needed.
Ensures that deliveries are timely and customers are satisfied.
Assists with inventory cycle counts when necessary.
Takes orders from customers and sales people when necessary.
Other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous lumber or building supplies experience strongly desired.
Previous dispatcher experience strongly desired.
Work experience of at least one year in sales, sales support, or customer service preferred.
Excellent communication skills are required.
Experience using various third party building supplier system applications desired.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The position could involve sitting, standing, walking, reaching and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Compensation details: 20-26 Hourly Wage
