Dispatcher - Midnight Shift

Dispatcher Position
Collin County Government is seeking candidates for the position of Dispatcher. A Dispatcher is responsible for, but not limited to, responding to a full range of radio and telephone operational duties in this 24-hour facility.
Only candidates who are available for shift work, including overnight shifts, are eligible to apply for this position - candidates MUST be available to work any shift.
Must Successfully pass a typing test of no less than 35 WPM.
Process and prioritize incoming calls for police, fire and EMS assistance
Relays emergency and non-emergency calls from citizens for fire, police and medical assistance.
Interacts with law enforcement officers to ensure their safety and provide assistance when needed.
Processes requests for warrant and vehicle registration checks.

High School Diploma, Transcript, or GED (original or original copy)
United States citizenship documents if not born in the United States
Testing Requirements:
This position requires that you pass a typing test at the minimum rate specified above prior to the application deadline. If you have taken a typing test with us within the last 6 months that meets or exceeds the requirements above, you do not need to take it again. If you have never taken our typing test, have not met the requirements above, or it has been more than 6 months since your last test, you will need to take the test prior to the application deadline specified above in order for your application to be complete. Typing tests are administered in the Human Resources Testing room from 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
