Avangrid, Inc. operates regulated electric and natural gas utilities and renewable energy generation in 24 states through two lines of business, with combined assets of approximately $48 billion. The successful candidate will be an integral member of a team providing legal counsel and support to Avangrid Power utilizing global best practices. This position will provide legal support for a variety of development, construction and asset management activities for renewable energy projects, specifically as they relate to real estate matters. Providing legal counsel and advice supporting development, construction and asset management activities relating to renewable energy projects, specifically involving real estate matters.Supporting the company in major transactions and negotiations relating to renewable energy projects, including joint ventures, landowner issues, asset dispositions and acquisitions and other matters. Presenting complex legal matters to senior business clients succinctly and utilizing non-legal language. Anticipating reasonable risk reduction and conditions necessary to support issuance of title insurance; Supporting internal and external litigation counsel on real estate matters.Coordinating with an in-house real estate paralegal.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school, state Bar Admission, and a minimum of six (6) years of relevant legal experience. Self-motivated, resourceful, experienced and agile to handle a broad range of legal matters, including ability to multitask. Well-organized and able to identify business-oriented solutions to complex legal problems. Demonstrated attention to detail and presents high-quality work. Prior experience with in-house or a combination of in-house and law firm practice at least significantly focused on real estate.Experience managing legal support to a large volume of projects simultaneously.
