Job Summary:

The registered nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) adult cardiovascular care is needed in Lewiston, Maine. The position involves working in a Level 3 trauma unit with adult patients, including post-operative cardiac surgery, endovascular procedures, heart failure, and other critical conditions. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day of employment.

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) ICU Adult Cardiovascular
Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, two years of nursing experience with recent CVICU experience of more than one year, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIH (National Institutes of Health) certification, familiarity with Epic electronic health record system, open heart training preferred
Preferred Qualifications: CCRN (Cardiac Care Certification) and open heart surgery training
Additional Information: Must be flexible to float to ICU, Medical/Surgical (MS), Telemetry, and Emergency Room departments as needed. The unit has 20 beds with a patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1 depending on acuity. Equipment includes Impella, Balloon Pump, ECMO, Tandem Heart, ceiling lifts, sit-to-stand lifts, and extensive safe-patient handling equipment.
