Applied Behavior Analysis (BCBA)

Description Position Summary The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is responsible for the assessment, development, implementation, and oversight of behavior support services for individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities, including those with intensive or high-risk behaviors. The BCBA works collaboratively with House Managers, Crisis Direct Support Professionals (Crisis DSPs), and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to ensure the delivery of effective, person-centered, and data-driven interventions. This role is critical in maintaining clinical integrity, reducing behavioral risks, and improving quality of life for individuals served.

Key Responsibilities Assessment & Treatment Planning Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and other relevant evaluations

Develop individualized Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) based on assessment data and best practices

Behavioral Oversight & Implementation Oversee implementation of BSPs by DSPs and Crisis DSPs to ensure fidelity and effectiveness

Monitor individual progress through data collection, analysis, and ongoing evaluation

Modify behavior plans as needed based on data trends and clinical judgment

Ensure alignment with PCM Practitioner Level 2 principles and safe intervention practices

Provide guidance and real-time support to staff during high-risk situations when needed

Training & Staff Development Train DSPs, Crisis DSPs, and House Managers on behavior support plans, data collection, and intervention strategies

Provide ongoing coaching, modeling, and performance feedback to ensure skill development

Collaboration & Communication Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including House Managers, nurses, therapists, and external providers

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, ethical guidelines, and organizational policies

Adhere to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Ethics Code

Requirements Qualifications Current certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing

Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or related field

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and intensive behaviors preferred

Strong knowledge of applied behavior analysis principles and evidence-based practices

Must be able to pass a Level 2 background screening

Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills

Work Expectations Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of individuals and staff, including occasional evenings or weekends

May be required to model or support physical intervention techniques in accordance with training guidelines
