Service Concierge Full Time

UPMC Presbyterian 9DUPMC Presbyterian 9D is hiring a Full-Time Patient & Family Concierge to join our team of Life Changers!Shift: Rotating, 7a-7p, all days of the week, rotating holidays and weekendsAbout the Unit:9D is a 17-bed cardiothoracic transplant unit caring for patients recovering from heart and/or lung transplants, and who receive support from a ventricular assist device; we also receive overflow cardiology patients. Purpose:The Patient & Family Concierge is responsible for providing generalized, compassionate service and support to patients, families, and visitors during their stay within the hospital. The Concierge will serve in a variety of capacities across the hospital based on ever-changing needs. In the course of the day, the Concierge may assist with patient and visitor destination coordination, environmental services, dietary, patient transport throughout the hospital, and supply/equipment management. Above all, the Concierge will remain focused on patient and guest satisfaction and quality of care from first to last impression.Responsibilities:Welcome patients and families with warmth and professionalismProvide directions, escort guests, and answer general hospital questionsSupport a positive experience from first impression to dischargeHelp keep patient rooms and public areas clean, safe, and stockedAssist with bed making, linen changes, and basic room resetsReport maintenance or safety concerns promptlyDeliver and set up patient meal trays following safety guidelinesProvide additional nourishments as requestedMaintain cleanliness and food safety standardsSafely transport patients, equipment, and lab specimensClean and inspect transport equipment after useAccurately document transport activitiesSet up and retrieve telehealth carts for patient appointmentsClean and test equipment to ensure proper functionalityStock patient rooms, supply areas, and PPEMonitor inventory levels and expiration datesDeliver supplies and equipment as neededAnswer phones and assist with call lights as directedInteract with patients, assess basic needs, and support mobilityFollow infection control guidelines and UPMC service standardsMust have the desire, drive, and compassion needed to provide an exceptional patient and family experience at all times. High School diploma OR active High School/GED program enrollment OR one year of previous job experience required in lieu of HS Diploma/GED.
