Process Engineering Senior

Amsted Automotive is looking for a Cold forming Engineers Specializing in Design and/or Process to support continued growth across our Burgess Norton and SMW divisions. We offer opportunities to be based in either:• Michigan (Belleville and Taylor)• Illinois (Geneva)Why Amsted Automotive?We are not a typical fastener manufacturer.We specialize in large-scale cold forming, starting at 18 mm and extending beyond 50 mm+Across our divisions, we operate one of the largest collections of large cold formers in the industryOur product portfolio spans automotive and earthmoving applicationsWe are looking for engineers who want to push the limits of cold forming, not just maintain the status quo.What You’ll DoSupport new product launches from quoting through full production releaseProvide hands-on troubleshooting and support for current production on the shop floorLead and drive continuous improvement initiatives (we don’t accept “good enough”)Recommend and execute capital investments, including faster machines and quick-change tooling strategiesCollaborate across engineering, operations, and leadership teamsNote: This is an on-site role. A strong presence on the shop floor is required.What You’ll Need to SucceedBachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering5-10 years of experience in Cold Forming, Hot Forming, or ForgingIncluding tool design and manufacturing supportAbility to effectively communicate from the shop floor to senior leadershipCAD experience (Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Pro-E, or similar)Experience with DEFORM and/or SAP is a plusAdditional ConsiderationsWillingness to travel and support multiple locationsSpanish or Italian language skills are a plusMust be comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environmentThis role requires time on the shop floor—not just desk workCandidates outside the immediate areas are encouraged to apply—we are open to flexible solutionsWhat’s In It For YouWe create a supportive environment where employees thrive!
