Under general supervision and in accordance with the guidelines established by the Mammography Supervisor and the Radiologist, performs Mammography and related clerical service duties.

Major Responsibilities Operates Mammography Equipment and performs Mammography Exams; Records all pertinent breast history from the patient and notes any discomfort or medical complaint which could be of importance to the Radiologist.

Adheres to established departmental policies and procedures, and safety control. Accurately documents work in the HIS/RIS/PACS and PEN RAD systems.

Cleans and maintains all accessory equipment (i.e., Position Qualifications Must take the initial exam for the ARRT certification in Mammography within 6 months of the completion of the required competencies. Must pass the ARRT Mammography certification exam within 12 months of hire.

Prior experience in the field Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
