Attorney - associate - law

Position Overview

Lydecker is seeking an associate attorney with 3+ years of experience. This is a hybrid position located in our Miami office. Applicants must be admitted to practice in Florida. Under the supervision of a partner, the associate will handle a variety of cases, including defense of premises liability, personal injury, and general liability.

Job Requirements

FL bar license in good standing.

Minimum JD from an ABA‑approved law school.

At least 3 years of civil defense litigation experience, preferably in general liability, bodily injury, premises liability, products liability, or construction defect litigation.

Experience managing up to 15+ cases simultaneously, attending and defending depositions, taking depositions, appearing in court, drafting motions and discovery, with mediation and trial experience a plus.

Basic computer skills, including internet and office software; proficiency in Microsoft products preferred.

Self‑motivated, independent worker with strong client communication skills.

Clear and persuasive oral communication, active listening, and ability to participate in meetings.

Strong written communication: clear, accurate, adaptable style, proficient in editing, and able to present numerical data effectively.

Ability to work with little supervision, prioritize tasks, and meet short deadlines under occasional pressure.

Commitment to client and firm confidentiality and adherence to ethical rules for lawyers.

Job Responsibilities

Willingness and ability to bill.

Draft, review, and respond to petitions, complaints, motions, and written discovery.

Attend hearings, depositions, and client meetings as required.

Assist with preparation for mediations and trials.
