A growing manufacturer specializing in electrical equipment and custom-engineered products, including control panels, switchboards, wire harnesses, cable assemblies, transformers, and power distribution solutions. The company continues to invest in engineering, manufacturing, and new product development as it expands its capabilities.

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support and lead new product development for electrical equipment, including control panels and switchboards.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on taking products from initial concept through design, prototyping, testing, and production. The ideal candidate is a creative and technically strong engineer who enjoys solving problems, working with 3D CAD, developing physical prototypes, and collaborating with manufacturing and cross-functional teams.

Lead mechanical design and development for new products, including control panels and switchboards.

Develop innovative design concepts using Creo, SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD software.

Create multiple design concepts and perform trade-off studies to determine the best solution based on performance, cost, manufacturability, and project requirements.

Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles throughout the product development process.

Design and develop sheet metal components and assemblies.

Plan and manage engineering projects, including scope, schedules, costs, milestones, and completion dates.

Develop physical prototypes to evaluate design feasibility and performance.

Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, operations, and other cross-functional teams to move projects from concept through production.

Create detailed part drawings, material BOMs, and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).

2-5 years of experience in new product development engineering.

Minimum 2 years of experience with Creo or similar 3D modeling/CAD software.

Design for Assembly (DFA)

Product development and concept testing

Experience with control panel or switchboard design.

Experience with bus bar design.

Understanding of electrical schematics.

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (MSME).

Experience taking products through the full development cycle from concept → design → prototype → testing → production.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Mechanical Engineer who enjoys new product development and solving problems that don't always have an obvious answer. Someone who is comfortable working in CAD but also wants to build, test, troubleshoot, and improve physical products will be a strong fit for this opportunity.
