CPA/Senior Tax Preparer

Tax Senior | Mokena, IL 60448 (serving the Orland Park area) | Hybrid Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
A bit about us: Founded over five decades ago and based in Mokena, we are a CPA and advisory firm serving privately held businesses and high net worth individuals throughout the Chicagoland area. Clients come to us for audit, tax, accounting, advisory and CFO services, and we take pride in getting to know their goals well enough to actually help them get there. CPA Support: Job Details Key Responsibilities and Duties Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns across individual, partnership, S corp, C corp, and (preferably) trust and estate filings
Research complex tax issues and build out supporting documentation
Serve as a direct point of contact for clients on tax matters and planning opportunities
Handle IRS and state tax notices and examinations as they come up
Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, reviewing their work along the way
Build long term client relationships through consistent, high quality service
Stay on top of federal and state tax law changes
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting
3 to 6+ years of recent public accounting tax experience
Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
Experience preparing both business and individual tax returns
Proficiency with tax preparation software and Microsoft Office
Nice to Have: CPA license, or active progress toward one
High net worth individual tax experience
Exposure to multi entity business structures
Tax planning and consulting experience beyond compliance work
