Full-time Senior Tax Preparer

AJ Chambers is working with a number of CPA and public accounting firms across Texas that are looking to connect with experienced Tax professionals at the Senior level.

We are interested in speaking with Tax Seniors who may be actively considering a move, as well as those who are simply interested in understanding what opportunities are available across the Texas market.

Opportunities range from growing independent and regional CPA firms through to established national practices, with positions offering exposure to different client portfolios, greater responsibility, direct client interaction and opportunities for continued career progression.

Preparing and reviewing federal, state and local tax returns for a variety of clients.

Managing multiple tax engagements and ensuring deadlines are met.

Preparing and reviewing returns for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts and other entities.

Researching federal and state tax matters and assisting with more complex technical issues.

Identifying tax planning opportunities and supporting clients with year-round tax matters.

Communicating directly with clients regarding tax information, planning and compliance matters.

Coaching and supporting the development of junior tax professionals.

Maintaining a strong understanding of changes to federal and state tax legislation.

Approximately 2+ years of tax experience , ideally within a CPA or public accounting firm.

Experience preparing and/or reviewing US federal and state tax returns.

The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider tax team.

A CPA, EA, CPA eligibility or progress toward professional qualification is preferred but not necessarily required for every opportunity.

Experience within areas such as individual/HNW taxation, partnerships, corporations, real estate, private equity, financial services, international tax, SALT, trusts & estates or family office/private client services may also be relevant depending on the opportunity.

Hybrid and flexible working arrangements may be available depending on the firm.
