Virtual Care Registered Nurse (RN) (Telehealth) - Telehealth

SUMMARY We are currently seeking a Staff Nurse to join our Nurse Telehealth department. This position is a 0.8 FTE (8 shifts/ pay period), 8-hour shifts, Evenings, Every Other Weekend.

RESPONSIBILITIES The Telehealth Staff Nurse is accountable for independently providing indirect patient care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year via telecommunications technology. Within the domain of Ambulatory Care Nursing, the Nurse provides remote nursing care to a variety of patient populations, including Medical, Surgical, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Geriatrics, and Behavioral Health, across the life span. Guided by the nursing process, evidence-based telephone nurse triage protocols, and clinical expertise, the Nurse determines the most appropriate level of care at the appropriate time for the patient’s reported medical condition or concern, including home care instructions. The Nurse also completes medication refill requests and assists community pharmacies with any requests related to HHS patients. The Nurse adheres to established Hennepin Health System (HHS) Policies, Procedures, and Protocols and to the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 2 years of experience working in the HHS Nurse Line department

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing

Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bilingual skills

Bachelor or Master's degree in Nursing
